Description:
Try this Gluten-Free Recipe. Make a batch of your own and store in an airtight container. Only 77 calories and 3 grams of fat per bar. Best part is...no preservatives!! Enjoy after the Cleanse.
Ingredients:
2 C Cereal--coarsely chopped if necessary
1/4 C Roasted unsalted nuts--coarsely chopped
3/4 C Dried Fruit--coarsely chopped
2 T Ground Rice Krispies Cereal
1/2 C second nut or fruit
1/3 C sugar, honey, or brown sugar
1/2 t Salt
2 egg whites
1/2 t Vanilla or Almond Extract

Potential Ingredients: Cereal: Cornflakes, Chex, Puffed Rice, Rice Krispies. Dried Fruit: Apples, Blueberries, Apricots, Cherries, Cranberries, Dates, Figs, Mangoes, Peaches, Pears, Pineapple, Prunes, Raisins, Strawberries. Nuts: Almonds, Cashews Hazelnuts, Macadamia, Peanuts, Pecans, Pistachios, Walnuts. Extras: 1/2 C Peanut Butter Chips, 1/2 C Chocolate Chips, 1/2 C Pumpkin Seeds, 1/2 C Shredded Coconut, 2 T crystallized Ginger, 2 T Flaxseed, 2 T Poppyseed, 2 T Sesame Seeds, 2 T Sunflower Seeds.
Directions:
Heat oven to 300 degrees. Line 9"x9" baking pan with foil. Cooking Spray the foil. Mix Cereal, nuts, fruit, rice krispies and extra fruit or nut in large bowl. Combine sugar and salt in small bowl. Whisk in egg whites and extract. Pour mixture into dry ingredients and stir. Pat into the prepared pan with moist hands or plastic wrap. Bake until bars are dry to the touch; 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on ingredients used. Cool completely, then cut into 18 bars with a knife dipped in hot water.
